KINGS OF ARMENIA. Tiridates II (?), circa 217-252. Unit (Bronze, 24 mm, 6.26 g, 11 h). Diademed head of Tiridates II to left, wearing tiara with five points; all within laurel wreath. Rev. π‘ˆπ‘“π‘ƒπ‘• / π‘‡π‘Šπ‘‹π‘Œ / Ξ›IΞ› ('trdt mlk' in Aramaic) within wreath. Kovacs 204 var. (tiara with three or four points). Extremely rare and of great interest. Light deposits, otherwise, very fine.

Tiridates II was recognized as King of Armenia by Macrinus in 217. He continued to rule his kingdom until 252, when he was expelled from Armenia by the Sasanids under Shapur
